Winter Open House for Prospective Families

Preschool academic classroom at Greensboro Montessori SchoolJoin Greensboro Montessori School on Sunday, January 27 at 1 p.m. for a glimpse of what happens on our 10-acre campus on any given day. Explore our classrooms, meet our professional educators, talk to alumni, and watch current students independently and happily engage in their work. Experience firsthand how a Montessori education prepares students for confidence and success in their adult lives.

Families choose Greensboro Montessori School because our curriculum masterfully blends academic prowess with the development of skills necessary for a lifetime of achievement in a global society. Beginning at 18 months old, our students learn how to work and play in culturally diverse, multiage learning communities. The goal of their academic work is mastery, not test preparation, and their studies are augmented by a wide array of cultural programming. Our Toddlers enjoy weekly music lessons, art lessons, and story time. All students ages 3 years and older receive weekly lessons in environmental education, library studies, Spanish, visual art, and world music. Beginning in first grade, students take additional classes in physical education, and beginning in third grade, students also receive weekly computer science lessons.

January is a great time to visit the school in anticipation of enrolling in the fall of 2019. Our application deadline for the 2019-20 school year is March 15. Once we receive an application, our director of admission will contact the family personally, schedule student visits for children ages 3 and older, and guide families through the process. Offers of admission are based upon a student’s application, family and student visits, teacher interviews, class compositions, past and present recommendations from other schools, parental support, and commitment to the Montessori method.
