The GMS Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising campaign that is dedicated to improving the quality of our program and makes up the difference between covering basic expenses and positioning GMS to have financial stability and flexibility that allows it to fully realize its mission and serve its students.
What’s unique is that GMS uses the Annual Fund to fund mission-critical proposals written by our faculty. All proposals are reviewed in the fall and the spring by a committee of students, faculty and staff, and then final approval is given by Board of Trustees.
Each year, families are invited to make a tax-deductible contribution to the GMS Annual Fund and payments can be made until May of the giving year. Gifts may also be eligible for matching funds from employers. Reaching 100% parent participation in the GMS Annual Fund is important as is reaching our dollar goal. Each family is strongly encouraged to give to its ability, and to fulfill pledged commitments.
Past Annual Fund grants were funded and impacted every student in our school:
- Renovation of the Toddler outdoor learning environment
- Musical Instruments
- Professional grade laminator for preservation of Primary learning materials
- Cubbies in Lower Elementary
- Plants, mulch and trees for the garden
- Washer & dryer for the Upper School
- A second AED machine
- Artwork and shelving for the library
- Software for Elementary and Middle School
- Materials to build six tipi shelters at the Land Campus (SEE VIDEO)
Other projects realized through the Annual Fund have included:
iPads and laptops, classroom materials and furniture, playground equipment, choral risers, visiting artist programs, the gymnasium climbing wall, stage curtains, lighting and sound equipment, and the school activity bus.
At last year’s Green and White Bash attendees donated funds for teacher wish list items that were posted at the event (books, games, gardening tools, wind chimes, playground balls, etc).
GMS is registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible (to the extent allowed by law.)
