John Archambault is a masterful and passionate history teacher. He is known for thinking deeply with children about how people and civilizations have interacted throughout time. His undergraduate degree from Boston College, masters in Philosophy from Duke University, law degree from Duke University, and AMS Montessori Elementary (ages 6-12) credential all fuel the way he approaches history with children. He brings history to life as he connects the Montessori approach to helping children understand how our past shapes our present and our future. For many years John worked solely with the upper elementary program. Starting in the 2017-18 school year, he will continue to teach some upper elementary language arts classes and is very excited to teach history to all of the upper school, 4th – 9th grades.
John became a faculty member following a successful fourteen-year career practicing law with Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey and Leonard, L.L.P. in Greensboro. He holds a Montessori teaching credential for six to twelve year olds from Southwestern Montessori Training Center.
