Sara Stratton was appointed in 2016 as an environmental education teacher. Monday through Thursday she partners with Chelsi Crawford to work with Primary, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary students in our four permaculture gardens. On Fridays, she joins the Upper School faculty for the Junior High microeconomy curriculum. In this role, she teaches culinary arts and leads Maria’s Market, our student-run restaurant.
Sara holds Permaculture Design Certificate and is pursuing a bachelors degree in the field of nutrition. Through her coursework, Sara has given healthy eating presentations to several area preschools and elementary schools.
Sara is an avid home gardener and loves preparing food right out of her garden at home. Her children attended a Montessori school in Ohio from preschool through the fourth grade.
